Wellington is the historic market town at the western end of Telford, sitting in the shadow of The Wrekin. Long before the new town was built it was the main commercial centre for the area, and its town centre still has that character: a market, independent shops and cafés, pubs, and streets of Victorian and older buildings housing solicitors, accountants, estate agents and other professional offices. It is also an important place for education, with Telford College and several schools in and around the town.
