Who is responsible for gas safety in commercial premises?
If you are an employer or you control a workplace, you are responsible for making sure gas appliances, flues and pipework are maintained in a safe condition. Landlords who let premises that include residential accommodation, such as flats above shops, also have a legal duty to arrange an annual gas safety check on the appliances they provide. Insurers, environmental health officers and landlords will often ask to see up-to-date certificates, so it pays to keep on top of them.
Minimal disruption to your business
We know you can’t simply switch off the heating in a busy office or close a kitchen at lunchtime. Most servicing and inspections happen during normal working hours, but where that would disrupt you we can work early mornings, evenings, nights or weekends, and we’ll agree timings with you in advance. Before we start, you’ll receive a risk assessment and method statement (RAMS), and when we finish you’ll get the relevant certificates and a clear summary of anything that needs attention.
More than just gas
Because we also provide painting and decorating, maintenance and office refurbishment, you can combine gas work with other jobs on the same visit and deal with one contractor and one point of contact. Many clients add gas servicing to a planned maintenance contract so certificates never lapse.
